Quy trình end-to-end (10 bước)
Áp dụng cho cả 10 platform — biến thể nhỏ tuỳ loại (bid / gig / vetted / job board).
Đăng ký & KYC
Email + phone + ID verify (CCCD VN OK với hầu hết platform). Toptal & Contra duyệt manual. WWR/Remote.co không cần (chỉ apply job).
Mẹo
Dùng email gmail tử tế (firstname.lastname). Tránh email teen/random — bị flag spam.
Profile / Gig / CV
Bid sites (Upwork, Freelancer, PPH, Guru): viết Bio + Title + Portfolio + Skill tags. Gig sites (Fiverr): tạo dịch vụ đóng gói. Job board (WWR/Remote.co): chuẩn bị CV + LinkedIn.
Mẹo
PROFILE LÀ LANDING PAGE. Bio kể: who I help + what problem + why me. KHÔNG phải CV liệt kê tech.
Tìm job / Nhận inbound
Bid sites: filter job → bid. Gig: chờ buyer mua hoặc nhận Briefs match. Job board: apply trực tiếp + cover letter. Vetted (Toptal): platform match cho bạn.
Mẹo
Vet client trước khi bid: payment verified? Spend history? Review từ freelancer khác? Nếu 0/3 → bỏ qua.
Proposal / Application
Template 70% + customize 30%. Đề cập đặc thù brief, đưa concrete plan, attach Loom 90s. Set expectation timezone (GMT+7 async-first).
Mẹo
10 proposal chất lượng > 50 spam. Theo dõi tỷ lệ phản hồi để tinh chỉnh.
Interview / Discovery call
Async chat trước nếu có thể. Nếu phải call: 30 phút Zoom, dùng caption (Otter/Read.ai), chuẩn bị 3 câu hỏi sẵn. Loom video alternative cho briefing dài.
Mẹo
Bạn dẫn dắt: 'Let me share my screen and walk you through how I'd approach this'. Chủ động giảm áp lực phải nói nhiều.
Contract & Escrow
Bid/Gig: dùng escrow built-in (milestone hoặc hourly). Job board: hợp đồng qua Deel/Remote.com (Employer of Record). Direct (Contra): contract template + Stripe Connect.
Mẹo
Milestone <2 tuần. Mỗi milestone deliver được. KHÔNG đồng ý 'làm xong hết rồi trả 1 cục'.
Deliver & feedback loop
Báo cáo định kỳ (weekly update qua chat/Loom). Deliver early khi có thể. Yêu cầu feedback rõ ràng theo điểm.
Mẹo
Mỗi delivery kèm 1-paragraph 'what I did, what's next, what I need from you'. Reduce ambiguity = giảm dispute.
Review & repeat
Yêu cầu review CHỦ ĐỘNG (đa số client quên). 5* + đề nghị làm tiếp. Lưu thông tin client vào CRM cá nhân (Notion/Airtable).
Mẹo
Repeat client = profit margin cao nhất (không tốn Connects, không bid, đã trust). Mục tiêu 60% revenue từ repeat sau 1 năm.
Payout về VN
Payoneer (mặc định Upwork/Fiverr/Freelancer) → bank VN qua 'global payment service' của Payoneer. Wise nếu client trả thẳng. Deel cho long-term contract.
Mẹo
Đợi gom $500-1000 mới rút để tối ưu phí. Set auto-withdraw cuối tháng.
Thuế
Thu nhập >100tr/năm khai TNCN. Mã số thuế cá nhân đăng ký miễn phí tại Chi cục thuế quận. Khai quý/năm, thuế suất 5-10% theo ngành.
Mẹo
Lưu invoice + bank statement. Có thể khấu trừ chi phí (laptop, internet, software) nếu hộ kinh doanh cá thể. Hỏi kế toán.
